Ear reconstruction a vist to Paris, France

Ear reconstruction is considered as one of the difficult surgery we as plastic surgeons perform. My passion for ear starts early in my plastic surgery residency.Soon I realised that to provide good care to my patient’s I have to learn every aspect of the ear reconstructive surgery from the best in the world.

This journey of ear reconstructive surgery began with my subsequent international craniofacial fellowships, although the exposure during my fellowships to congenital facial problems was extensive.The ear reconstruction was less frequently performed.My visit to Paris,France to attend Francoise Firmin’s Ear Reconstructive Surgery Unit clinic BIZET, were I learned the art of all kind of ear surgery.How to deal with the simplest to the most complex ear deformities. I am truly grateful to my mentor in ear reconstruction Dr.Francoise Firmin, who guided me for so many years ever since when I was a resident and  Dr.Stephane Guichard who later took the charge of Dr.Firmin ear reconstruction practice after her retirement.

It was a privileged and honour to be accepted as an ISAR Francoise Firm travel award in ear reconstruction in 2019.I am the second in the world to get this award in order to support the promotion of best clinical practice in the field of auricular reconstruction or surgery for microtia and atresia internationally.
