SPEECH SURGERY

Speech Surgery is required by children who had cleft palate repair in the past or who are diagnosed with submucus cleft palate( a condition in which the palate is intact from a naked eye but there is a disruption of the muscles of the palate which helps in speech).

Although only 15 % of the individuals who have submucus cleft palate require the repair of palate rest of the individuals may not need any intervention or they improves with the speech therapy. Some of the patients those who had cleft palate repair in the past, having speech issues need to be addressed. We evaluate those kids and depending upon the pathology, address his or her speech problems accordingly, either by fat grafting or palate repair (speech surgery)
